The uSURG 2023 Committee along with IFMSA-Poland Oddział Warszawa is delighted to announce that the registration form for workshops is now open to all participants (both active and passive participants) who would like to join and sign up for the uSURG workshops on March 3rd and March 5th!

 

Important information and requirements about the workshops at the uSURG Conference: 

- The uSURG Conference Workshops will take place: March 3, Friday & March 5, Sunday.

- The workshops are strictly available for the participants of this conference (either active or passive).

- Passive participants will get the opportunity to register for as many workshops as they want,  as long as it does not clash with the timings (please double check whether your session does not overlap with the workshops).

- Active participants will have the chance to sign up for more than 1 workshop, as long as it does not clash with the timings (please double check whether your session does not overlap with the workshops).

- Active participants will be given priority because they must do 1 workshop to receive their certificate.

Basics in Suturing 

Surgical skills are essential to any medical student and future doctor. It's necessary to be able to make a small suture if needed. SKN Kindley will take you through most essential suturing skills and suture techniques.This workshop will include a short lecture about types of surgical sutures and basic surgical equipment. Then, our lecturers will teach every attendant basic surgical sutures. After this workshop, you´ll know how to do primary wound care and create various knots important in the surgical branch of medicine.

Pediatric Surgical Mysteries:

An Interactive Case Study Series

Neosurgery WUM Club is happy to invite you for an interactive workshop “Pediatric Surgery Mysteries." Here you will team up with other students and get into the skin of real doctors! Different teams will be competing between each other while looking for the diagnosis in our mystery case studies. Who will get to the closest to the final diagnosis and win the prize?? Let’s figure that out on Friday, March 3rd at 16:00.

AMBOSS is a digital medical education platform created by a team of dedicated physicians. AMBOSS covers all of the pre-clinical and clinical topics students are expected to learn in medical school. Basics of Intestinal Anastomosis

Czerniakowski Surgery Club we will be teaching you how to do the three main methods of intestinal anastomosis (end-to-end, side-to-side, end-to-side) with the stapler and suturing technique using pig intestine. We hope to see you on March 3rd!

Casts and Bandaging 

The Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine Club is super excited to announce our workshop at the uSURG 2023 Conference coming up on March 3rd Friday, at 17:30-18:30. In our workshop we will be discussing casting and bandaging with and without fixation. You will have the opportunity to have a hands-on approach and practice these techniques with our guidance.

Surgery 101: How to be a Good Surgical Assist

Basic skills in surgery are vital and will be the fundamental base for your whole surgical career. In The HPB Surgery Club’s workshop, we will teach you all the tips and tricks you need to be a successful surgical assistant in the operating theatre, from the proper way of holding different surgical instruments to giving your main surgical operator the visual field they need to perform the operation effectively.

Basics of Laparoscopic Surgery with Practical Application

Transplantacje warmly invites you to our workshops! It will be a great opportunity to talk about some basic rules and aims of laparoscopy, to then take the first practical steps on basic training models. For all attendants who have some experience in this area, opportunity to improve suturing skills on skin-pads will be waiting!

Advanced Suturing (z-plasty, rhombo-plasty, intradermal sutures)

SKN "Graft" cordially invites all the uSURG 2023 participants to its surgical workshop.

The workshop will introduce some advanced surgical techniques including intradermal sutures, rhomboid flap, and Z-plasty. The course will focus on building both knowledge and skills. It is the opportunity to try more advanced techniques used daily in surgical practice, broaden one's knowledge and get all the notorious questions answered.
